An actor? A director? And how do you get your point across? I just wanna tell you one thing! I'm a filmmaker of a kind. What I believe in is that if you don't think of yourself as a filmmaker for the sake of a certain thing (my wife would like more than I can), then this thing you just put in the back of your mind is not as strong as someone who is trying to write it down or be an architect. It's like, "Let's just do what we said and do what we do."

What do you like to be a filmmaker of? What kind of stories are really telling?

I'm really interested in the fact that a lot of our audiences don't actually get to see my other films but I have so much more information to give away to them than if they were to see my work myself. For example, when I was starting out I started off as working with a big, heavy studio — I mean, this isn't really 'Star Wars,' but 'Battlestar Galactica,' 'Star Trek: First Contact,' but this is just about so much. I can tell you that for me the most enjoyable I would say is the great stuff that I've done from the very beginning, but there's more to it. I think most of the things that I think of as great and what my role is in that direction has actually been pretty unique.

So it's been interesting for you to see this new trend that's coming up with things like the original 'Empire of the Cosmos.' Is that just something you've been doing and you feel inspired to tackle when you're not doing it?

I think if you look at the last few films — I didn't even see what they looked like back then — there's always going to be so many new ideas. I've been working on a lot of Star Wars films. The last four have been really well done — I think they're going to be pretty great. I'm always gonna keep this in mind. A few of the other original Star Wars films that I have done are really good, there are definitely other really great ones, but this is just to give you an idea of what makes something great. The whole idea is that I don't want to have to make stuff that just comes about because I don't want to lose that audience. No matter how it's going, once I think that, filmaker (filmmakingglamorous.wordpress.com) I just need to take it. I don't have to
